It’s an expensive, slow-moving piece of machinery that has been around for a few years, and there aren’t a lot of buyers interested in a $65,000 sedan.
But there’s one demographic that could use a little help with that—the church.

While the company hasn’t revealed exactly how many church vehicles have been sold, church leaders say they have sold about 2,500.
A few churches, like the Metropolitan Community Church of Philadelphia and the Church of Christ in Christ in Cincinnati, have been using the Model X SUV as their primary transportation, but the majority of churches have been sticking with the Model 3.
Even though the Model 2 wasn’t as good, the company has a pretty good track record when it comes to getting church groups and churches interested in its electric cars.
Tesla says it sold 5,000 electric cars to churches in the first half of 2018, and the company expects to sell more than 7,000 in the second half of the year.
The company has been making an effort to reach churches with ads, and they’re showing off a new video with Elon Musk, Elon’s son, and Elon’s wife, Kara.
While it’s not a direct advertisement for the company, the video shows Elon’s family members, who are both Tesla employees, as they drive through the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
